The Hospital
Many people face the news that they need life-saving surgery.
I was one of those individuals who had to go through this experience.
Confronted with the unknown in the form of a diagnosis and a referral for surgery, I found myself in a world that was unfamiliar to me, where life moved at a different rhythm from the usual. I spent my recovery in the hospital after the operation within these walls.
I, as well as all other patients, who are beginning to recover, see these objects depicted in my series. I was primarily interested in the history of these objects, which have undoubtedly borne witness to decades of someone's recovery.
If you look closely, you can see that behind these walls and objects are people—the hospital staff—who ultimately make these walls special.
